We read "the kiss box" by Bonnie Verburg
We used various kinds of potato mashers to make bright colored prints on light blue paper.
We had dab a dot painters at the easel.
We had stencils and dry erase markers at the easel too.
We did a shape recognition game "find the shape the bird is hiding behind"
We listened to a book on cd today " Pete the cat and his white shoes"
We did the September song, 5 little ducks, way up high in the apple tree, for music time today.
Oak room pre k class
We read "if you give a dog a donut" by Laura Numeroff
We did a crayon resist project. We wrote the children's names with white crayon on white paper so the did not even see it was there. Then we gave them water colors and told them to paint all over the paper to see the surprise. They were very excited to find their names appear. We then gave them a sheet of white paper and a white crayon so they could draw their own design that appeared when they water colored on top of it.
We did underneath the broomstick, 5 magic rabbits, and a manners song called a polite old man for music time today.
We made a list of words we could think of that started with the letter a.
We practiced writing the letter " a " on a dry erase board.
We did a story starter activity based on the concept of the books we read this week " if you...."
Willow room MWF class 3's
We read "if you take a mouse to school" by Laura Numeroff
We painted using kitchen utensils, whisks, pancake turners, potato mashers, etc. on one large piece of paper for a group project.
We had dry erase markers at the easel.
We did an insects on the move rhyme
We did hello everybody, sticky bubble gum, and late last night for music today.
Stay and play:
We read "little white rabbit" by Kevin Henkes today. We put primary colors of paint, plus white in egg cups and the children mixed them to paint pictures.
We brought in some wooden ramps, with magnets and marbles for the children to explore.
We did I chaned my mind, (a fast and slow song) , put your finger in the air, and a house of shapes rhyme for music time today.
