"Who said Meow?" by Maria Polushkin
We asked the children today "Which farm animal sound can you make?"
We painted using flip flop painters that have designs on the bottom
We colored paper at the easel with oil pastel crayons.
We did can you leap like a frog?, the cool bear hunt, and 2 little black birds for music today.
We did a rhyme to the tune of BINGO, using farm animal names: Piggy, Chick, Horse, Doggy, and Sheep.
Maple Room: MWF class
We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" by Eric Carle
We did a 3 D art project today. We rolled paper towel cardboard tubes back and forth across paint on a tray.
We had red, yellow and blue paint at the easel with various kinds of rollers.
We have been talking about Primary and secondary colors.
We did an ice cube melting experiment - we put a red ice cube, and a yellow ice cube in a cup; a red and a blue ice cube in a cup, and a yellow and a blue ice cube in a cup. Then when they melted, we looked to see what color it had become. We put a paper towel in the cup to show the new color.
We played a game of colors, "Abracadabra, which color did I take from you?"
We also read "Little Blue, Little Yellow" by Loe Lionni
We did The October song, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, with the children acting out the parts to the song. for music time today.
Oak Room- Pre- K class
We read "Rain" by M. Stojic (it is a book about the 5 senses and how you can use each sense with rain)
We also read "My Five Senses" by Margaret Miller
We painted a picture with paint and brushes on a slanted easel. Then when we were done, we sprayed the paper with water to see the design run.
We did a 5 senses chant.
We talked about words that start with the letter D.
We did the 5 senses song, and "Leaky Umbrella" using maracas
Stay and Play:
We read "Danny the Dinosaur" by Syd Hoff
We put glue on a stencil design and filled it in with mosaic materials
We did "Sally the swinging snake" using scarves to dance along
We also did The freeze dance and tried out different actions, like jump, march, etc.
