Maple Room- MWF class
We read "The Legend of Spookley and the Square Pumpkin"by Joe Troiana
We made tissue paper leaves fall wreath collages.
We had pumpkin shapes at the easel with paint and brushes.
We did The October song, leaves falling all around the town (tune of wheels on the bus), 5 pumpkins on a gate, and pumpkin n the straw for music.
We also read "Monsters love colors" by Mike Austin
We did a number activity with the numbers 1-10, find the airplane hiding behind the numbered cloud.
Oak Room- Pre- K class
We read "The fox and the falling leaves" by Julia Rawlinson
We painted on leaves and thenmade a print by pressing paper down on top of them. We will put them all together to make a "fall quilt" for our classroom wall.
We did a 5 little leaves rhyme and we did some "bean bag challenges" to music.
We made a list of words that begin with the letter F.
We practiced writing the letter F on dry erase boards.
Stay and Play:
We read "A mountain of friends" by Kerstin Schoene
We dripped water colors onto of a pile of shaving cream on a tray to make a rainbow effect. The children either used a stirrer or their hands to mix it.
We did "She'll be coming around the mountain" and did actions to the song, and we did an ABC match game. Press the buzzer after you match a lower and upper case letter.
