Have you wanted to take your preschooler or elementary school child to a movie, but the sounds are too loud, the darkness is too scary or they can't sit still?
AMC theaters offers what they call "Sensory friendly movies for children" . In partnership with the autism society they have some movie screening this summer where the lights are up some, the sound is lower, and it is OK to get up and move around.
Some of the local theaters involve are at:
Niles (at Golf Mill), Village Crossing (in Skokie) and Lake in the Hills.
All movies are at 10:00 am- but subject to change so check your local theater for confirmation
They are showing:
Kung Foo Panda 2 on June 4
Cars 2 on July 2
Smurfs on August 6.
