Trinity Preschool Activities for Thursday, September 20, 2012

We played outside on the playground today.

Willow Room: T/Th class

We read "My preschool" by Anne Rockwell

We painted our own hands with paint on a paint brush, and then made hand prints on paper. It was fun to watch them so seriously painting their hands.

We added bubbles to the water table for some added fun.  We have water toys in there too.

We did "Hands are for clapping", "Tommy Thumb" and Hello everybody" for music.

Maple Room: Thursday class

We read "The M&M's counting book" by Barbara McGrath today

We did a sorting, patterning, counting and graphing activity using M&M's .

Then we painted a picture by sorting M&M's by color, then melting M&M's in a little water and painting a picture with the colors it made.

Of course, we had to eat a few with our snack too.

We did Brown Bear and Hello everybody for music time.

Oak Room:  Pre-k class

We are talking about our bodies and ourselves.

We read "The skeleton inside you" by Philip Balestrino
"Broken Bones" by Angela Royston

We asked if their first name had the letter B in it.and we graphed the results.

We glued Q-tips onto body shapes to look like bones

We talked about how many bones are in our bodies?  (answer is 206)
We did a body puzzle, number peg puzzle, and button lacing activities at the tables.

We did "Spaghetti legs" (what if we had no bones?), "Toe, Leg, Knee" and a Bone rhyme for music time.

We looked at x-rays on the light table.

We observed our milk experiment from yesterday to see what happened to the milk. and discussed the results.
