Oak Room- 5 day Pre- K class
We read the story "Little Blue and Little Yellow" by Leo Lionni
We are learning about the sense of sight.
The children cut out a circle shape- great fine motor practice and important for children to know how to do when in kindergarten. Then they painted with blue and yellow paint to illustrate the story.
We did a color bird rhyme-we also named things we could think of that are each color.
We played ring around the rosie- using different actions
We asked the children "Does your name have the letter C in it? We graph the results and discussed them.
We looked at various kinds of binoculars and color wands. We played a small group game of listening BINGO.
Maple Room- Thursday class
We read "Ten Red Apples" by Pat Hutchins
The children drew their own pictures of something about an apple. They dictated to us what it was about and then some of them wrote it also themselves on their paper. They did a wonderful job!
We also practiced writing our names. They have a card with their name on it and they look at it if they need help.
Willow Room- MWF class
We listened to a story on a CD called "yes, we can" by Sam McBratney
We used foam textured rollers dipped in paint today for art.
We had magnetic face pieces to create various kinds of faces at the easel.
We did "Can't sit still", "Little fish", and "What can you do with a bean bag?" for music time.
We did a 5 little germs rhyme to remind the children about how germs can make us sick.
We put red color in the water in the water table today.
