Willow Room- MWF class
We read "The very hungry caterpillar" by Eric Carle
We asked the children "Do you have the letter U in your name?"
We painted by blowing into a cup of paint through a straw to make bubbles. Then we took a piece of paper and put it gently on top of the bubbles. It left a bubble shape print on the paper.
We practiced our songs for Mother's Day.
We looked at objects that start with the letter U and talked about the sound it makes. Our dramatic play area is a flower shop.
Our seeds have grown into plants!
Maple Room: Morning class
We had camp day today. We had a pretend fire in the room and we sat around it for our circle time and stories.
We had a tent and flashlights and we wore camping clothes for our "hike" and "Bug hunt".
We did "Going on a bear hunt" for music time. We ate a special snack with teddy grahams and bananas.
We made fire fly bug jars for art and had bugs in grass at the easel.
We had water in the sensory table with glo bracelets. We had a camp site set up for our dramatic play area.
We read "Goodnight, sleep tight, Don't let the bed bugs bite" by Diane De Groat for our story.
The children wrote a story about their camping day.
Camp Trinity:
"Once upon a time there was a class that went camping. They had dinner. Then they got lost. They went home to sleep. Then they ate their lunch. They saw 100 ghosts and were frightened. They heard a bum and a thump and then there was a big scary ogre. Then they brushed their teeth. And then they went to sleep. They ate dinner. Then they roasted marshmallows. Then tey saw a fairy. Then they went to a place they go to school. They saw a lot of cats and they brought them home. They saw a bunch of dogs and they brought them home. Then their flashlights stopped working. So they sat near the fire."

Trinity Preschool Summer Camp June 2012
We have been having fun with camp, last week the weather was cool and now it is HOT! But the children have had fun no matter what the weather! Today we brought out the sprinklers and hoses and I just love the excited sounds of laughter. We also had water tables, art and plenty of quiet activities too.
Sand in trays with dinosaurs and small accessories |
water play with new items added daily to change it up |
We added paint to water and put it in spray bottles for the children to squirt at large sheets of paper. |
We have peg board ties to the fence for our outdoor easels. Wworks great. |
Fly swatter painting- always a hit! |
We put out powder paint and cups with water. The children dip their brush in water and then in the powder paint. |
Clear plastic containers of water with and eye droppers with liquid water colors. |
The picture made from the fly swatters being whacked against the paper. |
Getting ready for truck painting in large boxes. |
Water play every day! |
Truck painting in large boxes- they could roll the trucks with their hands, or two friends could pick up the box and roll the truck back and forth. |

Camp- Day 4
We had a hot sunny morning-finally! We were able to get the sprinkler out and a lot of other fun water activities too.
We:
We:
- Used the new Fisher Price ball sprinkler, it was so much fun.
- Used big boxes with paper in them and a variety of balls dipped in paint. Then two of us rolled the balls back and forth to create a design. We had tennis balls, wiffle balls, and ping pong balls- they all created different patterns as they rolled. The art creations are hanging in the halls. This is a great team project.
- We had stencils and markers at the table.
- In advance, we froze water in large bowls. We brought it out in tubs with paint brushes and watercolors.
- We had the water tables out with plenty of water toys to explore.
- We had the dinosaurs and sand out on one of the tables.
- We got out buckets, sponges, and fun tools to wash the playground equipment.
- Plus we had books, and some activities to sit on the blankets and have some relaxing fun.
- We blew up some beach balls to toss around.
- We added some new sand toys and some sifters to the sand boxes.
- We also got some more bug catchers- they are the big summer hit!
