Oak Room- 5 day pre- k class
We read "Buzzy's Boo Boo" by Harriet Ziefert
The children drew a picture of when they were hurt and we put a band aid on the picture. They dictated the story of when they were hurt and we wrote it on the picture.
We talked about the letter B and what words start with the letter B. We used head phone to listen to books on tape.
We did bean bag alphabet rag- we put bean bags on different parts of our body; and we did "Boa Constrictor" for music today.
Maple Room: MWF class
We read "Ten apples up on top" by Theo Lesieg
We mad apple sun catchers, we glued tissue paper to wax paper. We will frame them with apple shapes and hang them on our windows.
We had apple shapes with red and green paint at the easel.
We read an "I am an apple " book. We rolled giant dice to play a number game- "how many apples to add up on top of the head. we roll the dice and count the number" We balanced bean bags on our heads. (pretended they were apples)
We did The September song, A-P-P-L-E, "Itsy- Bitsy Spider felt board song, & 5 little apples for music today.
Willow Room- MWF class
We read "Cool dog, school dog" by Deborah Heiligman
We used tempra paint with primary colors (red, yellow, blue) and brushes.
We had dog shape stencils at the easel and markers with pencils and crayons.
We did a draw and tell story that revealed a dog.
We did "Dog in school" (Carole Peterson CD), Hokey Pokey, and Wheels on the bus (using felt board pieces for each part of the song)
