Willow Room: MWF class
We read "The umbrella day" by Nancy Cooney
We asked the children "What do you like to do on a rainy day?"
We used dish scrubbers to paint umbrellas.We painted at the easel using mini mop shape brushes.
We did "Head shoulders, knees and toes", ducks like rain", and weather rhymes" for music time.
We did rhyming raindrops (we matched rhyming words on umbrellas)
We looked at objects that start with the letter Q and thought of words that start yesterday.
Maple Room- morning class
We read "Arabella Miller's Tiny Caterpillar" by Clare Jarrett
We worked on a special art project for Mother's Day for our moms.
We used sponge brushes and rollers with paint at the easel.
We did The April song, PIZZA, 5 little flowers in a row, and sticky bubble gum for music time.
We practiced letter X activities on dry erase boards and played the missing letter game- A-X abracadabra- what letter is gone?
Maple Room- afternoon class
We read the books about the letter Q and R. We also read "waiting for wings" by Lois Elhert
We worked on our letter journals in Q and R words and pictures.
We looked at the letters Q and R and practiced the sounds they make today.
We did The April song for music time.
Oak Room- Pre- K class
We read "Fish is fish" by Leo Lionni
and "I love my new toy" by Mo Willems
We worked on our journals, writing numerals- 1-5, writing the number 1-5 and writing a dot to represent each number.
We did "I'm a little teapot", "Let's play in the band" and "I can hammer" for music time. We had the estimation jar with shells today.
Stay & Play:
We read "The fox and the springtime blossoms" by Julie Rawlinson
We painted using primary colors and Q-tips. We mixed the colors to make secondary colors.
We did list of dances, and over the deep blue sea for music time.
