We read "Because a little bug went kachoo! by Rosetta Stone
We asked the children "Do you have the letter S in your name?
We painted with sponge sticks and flower stencils.
We practiced our songs for Mother's Day.
We did a spider shape felt rhyme.
We looked at objects that start with the letter S.
We have a picnic /BBQ area in our dramatic play area. We played a colors and shapes learning game today.
Maple Room- morning class
We read "Waiting for wings" by Lois Elhert
We painted egg cartons to make them look like caterpillars.
We had paper at the easels with corks and green and red paint to look like caterpillars. We had forks to dip in green paint to look like grass.
We did April song, and practiced our Mother's Day songs.
We did letter Y activities, upper and lower case y and thought of words that begin with the letter Y.
Oak Room: pre- k class
We read "The magic school bus on the ocean floor" and "I am going" by Mo Willems an Elephant and piggie book.
We worked in our journal notebooks writing the numbers 6-10.
We made potato head creations, and did a patterning board game.
We did "Five little fishes swimming in the sea" using props. We also sorted ABC pictures into a pocket chart by the beginning letter.
We had the estimating jar today.
Stay & Play:
"Franklin wants a pet" by Paulette Bourgeois was our story today. We wet paper with a sponge dipped in water, then we drew a picture on it using chalk.
We did "The bear hunt" and "looby Loo" for music time today.
