We played outside today on the playground- it felt so good to be outside!
Willow Room- Terrific 2's and 3's class
We did "I'm a little teapot" by Iza Trapani for our story today. We also had a fun "tea party" at snack today.
We asked the children "Have you ever seen a rainbow?" and we made rainbow toast for snack today. We painted with rainbow colors on toast.
We had rollers in red, yellow and blue paint to make rainbows at the easel.
We did "I'm a little teapot", "hand dance", and "Rainbow pokey" for music today.
We did a rainbow soup felt rhyme and we did an experiment where we made a rainbow using a mirror and water.
Maple Room- Thursday class
We read "Caps for sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina- a great classic story. If you have never read it, you must!
We acted out caps for sale at music time and we did "put your finger in the air"
We did a concept activity today. We have a cool new toy at school. There are cards with pictures on them showing spatial placement of items and a board with 3 D items. The children need to look at the picture and recreate it using the 3 D pieces.
Oak Room- pre- K class
We read "Fidgety fish" by Ruth Galloway , "What's it like to be a fish?" by Wendy Pfeffer and "Are you ready to play outside?" by Mo Willems (another in the elephant and piggie series we have been reading)
We did a group art project to create a background for our fish mural. We used roller brushes with blue and green paint and we then swirled glitter paint in with brushes.
We had magnetic mazes with ABC's, colors, shapes, a fish race game and the letter Z puzzle.
We did "Went to the pet store" and we used props; we also did our Alphabet letter sounds song using lower case flash cards.
We asked the children "does your name have the letter Z in it?"
