Trinity Preschool Activities for Monday, April 8, 2013

Willow Room: MWF class

We read "Crunching Munching caterpillar" by Sheridan Cain

We asked the children "Would you like ot have wings?  Why and what would you do?

We cut up egg cartons into small sections and the children are painting them to make a caterpillar.

We had sponge top squeeze bottles and watercolors at the easel.
We did "Herman the worm, and There's a dog in school for music time.  We also did the fingerplay
5 little monekys teasing Mr. Crocodile.

We made our picture chart of things that start with the letter P.  We thought of words that start with the letter P.

We measured our caterpillars.- They grew so much!

Maple Room- morning class

We read "Clara caterpillar by Pamela Duncan Edwards

We painted paper plates green to make a classroom caterpillar.
We had dab a doo painters at the easel.

We did April song, Leaky Umbrella, 5 umbrellas, caterpillar finger play

We did letter X activities and we skyped with someone in Arizona.

Maple Room -afternoon class

We read "Arabella Miller's Tiny Caterpillar" by Clare Jarrett

We worked on a special project for Mother's Day today at the art table.
We had sponge rollers and spools on rollers at the easel.

We did Brown Bear, and Sticky Bubble Gum for music time. 
We read Mouse's first spring too.

Oak Room- Pre- K class

We read "Gilbert the great" by Jan Clarke and Charles Fuge

We also read "I broke my trunk" by Mo Willems

We made "Jellyfish"to hang around the room. We painted some paper plate bowls and will add streamers to look like tentacles.

We did sticky bubble gum, come and take a smiley face, 5 little fish swimming in the sea for music time today.

We had the water table in the room with sponges to help us learn about absorption. 

Stay & and Play:

No room for Napoleon" by Adrian Meserve was our story today.

We did a string art activity for art today.  We dipped string in paint and set it on paper.  Then we folded the paper over the string and held it while we pulled the string out.

We did "Went to the pet store", and "silly dance contest" for music time. 

We had fun with the under the sea activities in the room, and did magnetic fishing .
