Maple Room
We read "Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats
We painted with frozen watercolors on water color paper. We framed them and put them in the hall. We use liquid water colors from Discount school supply, for this project, not diluted too much. Free them in ice cube trays with a small popscicle stick for a handle.
We had snowflake shapes at the easel with glitter paint.
We did The January song, 2 little snowflakes, and 5 chilly snowmen for music time.
Oak Room:
We acted out the story of the 3 bears. Everybody got a chance to be on of the bears or Goldilocks.
We read "The quiet quail" today
We worked in our journals today on things that start with the letter Q.
We did "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, Turn around" and "Stick to the glue" for music time.
Willow Room:
We read "The Mitten" by Jan Brett
We painted on mitten shapes while wearing textured mittens dipped in paint.
We had magnetic snowmen at the easel that the children could sort by size.
We did "If you are happy and you know it"< "Face the Facts" and "Head, shoulders, knees and toes " for music today.
Our sensory table has shaving cream and ice cubes to explore.
We used clothes pins to hang mittens on a clothesline. Great for fine motor skills.
We did Teasing Mr. Snowman Rhyme
We had small paint palates and water color brushes out at choice time.
We looked at objects that start with the letter C.
