Trinity Preschool Activities for Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Special Note:  The Peggy Notebaert Museum near Lincoln Park Zoo is free on Thursdays for Illinois residents.  They have a great butterfly exhibit!

Stay & Play: We read "Knuffle Bunny" by Mo Willems

We painted on foil and put it in a frame.

We did a rhyme called 5 little bunnies

Willow Room:
We read "Mouse's First Spring" by Lauren Thompson
We asked the children if they have the letter "T" in their name?  We also asked the children what letter does your name end with?

We painted with spring time stampers, but first we painted the stamper with a brush, then pressed it onto paper to make a print.  We had chalk, markers and stencils at the easel.

We are practicing the songs for Mother's Day.

We looked at objects tat start with the letter T  and the sound it makes.  We glued pictures to our letter T chart.

Maple Room:

We read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle

We painted egg cartons to make caterpillars.  We used corks to make circles like caterpillars and used forks to make the grass at the easel.

We did The April song, and we practiced our Mother's Day songs.

We did letter X activities and we did a sequencing caterpillar game.

Oak Room:

We did "Memories of a goldfish" by Devin Scillian  and "The bravest fish" by Matt Buchingham

We cut out starfish shapes and we decorated them with puffy paint and cheerios.

We played a memory game- which color shell is the fish hiding under.
We had spatial relationship blocks with pictures
We also had out 3 letter word puzzles.

We did a rhyme 5 little fish swimming in the sea- we used props to act it out.
We also did Down by the bay

We had the estimating jar out again today.
