Trinity Preschool Activities for Friday, April 12, 2012

Stay & Play:

We read "Possum and the Peeper" by Anne Hunter

We used colored wood shavings and glue on flower shapes

We did Silly Sally song and story, come and join into the game, and cool bear hunt for music time.

We had a large group, so we divided play time into two classrooms and then all joined together for snack in one room.

Our caterpillars and Luna moth came and we showed the children how they look.  We will keep track of how fast they grow and change.

 Willow Room:
We looked at letter S things.  We read "The crunching munching Caterpillar" by Sheridan Cain

We worked on our Mother's Day gifts- they look so cute!
We had watercolors at the easel.

We are having fun in our flower shop in our dramatic corner.

Maple Room:

We read Arabella Miller's Tiny Caterpillar" by Clare Jarrett

We did watercolor painting, we used sponge brushes and rollers with paint at the easel.

We did the April song, a fuzzy caterpillar rhyme, and practiced our Mother's Days songs.
We did letter W practice on the dry erase boards.
We made predictions of how long we thought the caterpillars will eat and how log they will sleep before becoming butterflies.

Oak Room:

We read "Clumsy Crab and Smiley Shark- both written by Ruth Galloway

We painted on bubble wrap with different colors and then pressed paper on top to make a print.  We put a fish shape frame around the print for a great picture for our under the sea art.

We practiced writing on our dry erase boards, we did letter lead stringing too.

We sang "Over the deep blue sea" and the letters on the bus (tune wheels on the bus) for letter sounds.  The B on the bus goes "ba, ba, ba", etc.
