We played in the gym today.
Willow Room- T/th class
Our story today was "The biggest pumpkin ever" by Elizabeth Bennett and we did a pumpkin rhyme
We made mini pumpkin prints by using real pumpkins dipped in orange glitter paint and pressing onto paper. We had dry erase markers at the easel.
We sang "Buy a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch" where each child gets to come up and pretend to buy a pumpkin. We sang "Tommy Thumb", and Looby Loo- a movement song.
We had leaves in the sensory table with dinosaurs and hidden pumpkins.
Maple Room- Thursday class
We read the story "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh
We painted with Karo syrup- the children were given small amounts and food color dripped onto it to mix and make new colors.
We did the October song, the freeze dance, the bear hunt using instruments, 5 little pumpkins, and colored leaves song.
We did some sorting activities and we brought in a big tube and rolled cars through them to see how far they could go.
Oak Room- Pre- K class
We read "Leaf Trouble" by Jonathan Emmett
We made leaf prints today. We put real (and some plastic) leaves on paper, put paint on them and pressed paper onto them to make a print.
We had sparkle paint at the easel.
We did "This old man" with actions and some opposite cards - match them with a partner, who has your opposite action?
We had modeling clay and a nursery rhyme story set out today.
We asked the children is they had an "F" in their name?
