Oak Room: Pre- K class
We read "A fly went by" by Mike McClintock
The children drew a picture to go along with the sentence " "If I had a million dollars, I would get my mom .......". The answers and pictures are adorable.
We did butterfly rhymes wearing special fabric butterfly rings.
We also practiced our songs for Mother's Day.
We did some rhyming word families
We made a graph of our favorite colors.
Willow Room: MWF class
We read "The big red kite" by Stan and Jan Berenstain
We made kites using tissue paper we glued onto a paper shaped like a kite.
At the easel, we used 3 colors of paint, a really long piece of paper and long brushes.
We did a 5 kites rhyme, we explored a new toy in the room, It is a teddy bear- button, zipper, snap, buckle and tie activity board
We looked at objects that start with the letter V and talked about the sounds it makes.
We practiced our Mother's Day songs.
Maple Room- MWF class
We did the story of the carrot- an old folk tale and we used props for the story. Then the children took turns acting it out.
We did some planting in our room today.
We had tulip shape paper and dab a dot painters at the easel.
We did the May song, Months song, and practiced our songs for Mother's Day.
We also read "From seed to plant" by Gail Gibbons and and we talked about the parts of a flower.
Stay and Play:
We read "Elmer and Rose" by David McKee
We dipped cotton in vegetable oil and spread it on wax paper. Then we added colored tissue paper pieces and it looks like stained glass.
We did the rock and roll freeze dance, and Your face will surely show it" for music today.
