Trinity Preschool Activities for Monday, February 3, 2014

Willow Room: MWF class

We changed our dramatic corner into a Post office.  We are learning about mailing letters and cards.  We are making a mail themed bulletin board and the children used black paint and letter stampers to get our "envelopes" ready for the bulletin board.

When we come into class and find our names for attendance, they are written on an envelope shape now.In the morning we "mail" our names.

We had chalk boards at the easel.

We read "The jolly postman" by Janet and Allan Ahlberg

We did "please pass the heart" , "Skinnamarink", and "Sticky Bubble Gum" for music time.

We reviewed the letter E and we made a word chart of words we could think of that start with the letter E.

Oak Room: Pre- K class

We read "D.W.'s Library card" by Marc Brown and we read "Lola at the library" by Anne McQuinn

We did marble painting on pink paper.  They will be cut into heart shapes to put in an envelope on our bulletin board.

We did "the button factory", "Put your finger on", and "a snowball melting rhyme" for music time today.

We changed our dramatic corner into a library.  The children love this change over.  We have a special Trinity Preschool Library card for each child and they are in a box in alphabetical order.  The children need to find their card and put it away too.  Each child was brought into the office so they could choose a special book to take back to their class library.  They thought this was so special to come and choose a book from the office.

Maple Room: MWF class

We read "Franklin's Neighborhood" by Paulette Bourgeois

We cut out house shapes to add to our bulletin board.  We painted with textured brushes at the easel.

We did "The February song" for music today.  We didn't get much music in today because the children were very interested in talking about the calendar and the special dates in February.

Our dramatic corner has been changed over into a post office.

We did letter M activities.

Stay and Play:

We read "How rocket learned to read" by Tad Hills

We painted with circle objects and we also dipped the bottom of an egg carton that was cut into pieces onto our paper to make designs.
