Willow Room- Terrific 2's and 3's class
We read the book "When Winter comes" by Nancy Van Loan
We are talking about the color blue now and we took turns looking around the room for something blue.
We made a blue art project today, we used blue glue to glue blue objects to paper.
We did "Tap your toe", "Over the deep blue sea" and "Hello everybody" for music time.
We played a color game at circle time, we had snowmen of various colors and a snow flake was hiding behind one, the children had to guess which color snowman the snowflake was hidden behind. This is one of our favorite games as the children are learning colors, follow directions, waiting their turn, watching and listening to see what they other children guessed, memory, and fun.
Oak Room: Pre- K class
We read "The three bears" by Byron Barten and "Beware of the bears" by Alan MacDonald
We painted with prickly balls by rolling them back and forth in a box. These will be the covers to our Three Bears books.
The children are dictating the Three Bears story to make their own books.
We are talking about the letter Q.
We dud a fun music activity today. We laid out music instruments in the squares on our group time rug. We played some music and when the music stopped, the children picked up an instrument and played it. Then they put it back down and walked around while the music played. When it stopped again, they picked up a new instrument and played it again. They had a chance to play several instruments.
