All classes played outside today!
Willow room- MWF class
We read "Clara Caterpillar" by Pamela Duncan Edwards
We asked "Do you have the letter "R" in your name?
For art we are making caterpillars using green paint and egg cartons.
We had out some of our new toys and some of our favorite toys today, a lock board, snap blocks, bristle blocks, a colored socks sorting game, a felt book and number puzzles.
We practiced our songs for Mother's Day. We have our doctor's office in the dramatic play area, and we measured our caterpillars to see how much they have grown. We also looked a the moth cocoon.
Maple Room:
We read "Growing like me" by Holly Keller
We cut butterfly wings from paper.
We had dab a dot painting at the easels.
We sang the April song, and alphabet sounds
We started talking about the letter "S" We added 3 more days to our graph for our caterpillars and moth. We have a pizza parlor in our play kitchen.
Oak room
We read "Don't eat the teacher" by Nick Ward
On butterfly shapes we put colored tissue paper that "bleeds color" when wet. The colors then make a design on the butterflies wings.
We sang 2 little blackbirds, animal actions, and hands are for clapping.
We are watching our caterpillars and moths to see the transformations.
