Oak Room First Day -If you give a mouse a cookie bulletin board

We began our school year today in our pre-k classroom and are looking forward to a great year.

We read the story "If you give a mouse a cookie" by Laura Numeroff and we tied in our art project to the story by having the children decorate paper cookies for our bulletin board. They used brown paint to paint cookie shapes and they then glued on pom poms to make it look like a decorated cookie.

We had out some table activities with color mazes, alphabet sequencing puzzles ana writing boards and introduced the children to the learning centers in our room.

We talked about the classroom rules, we sang "The twelve days of school" using props, and did a sing a long book called "Ten in the bed".

We went outside on the playground for our large motor time. We had a great morning today.
