We played outside today- enjoy the beautiful weather we are having and get outside!
Willow Room:
We are transforming our room into a farm, we have a pretend barn in our dramatic play area.
We read Cock a doodle doo! Barnyard Hullabaloo by Giles Andreae
We asked the children if they have ever been to a real farm with animals?
We used feed corn dipped in yellow paint and rolled them around in cardboard boxes to make cool prints on the paper.
We sang "Old MC Donald had a farm", "There's a dog in school - then we sang it with farm animal sounds)" and "Tommy Thumb"
We changed over many of our puzzles and other table toys to farm theme items.
Oak Room:
We read "There's an opossum in my backyard" by Gary Bogue
We worked in our journals- we drew pictures that start with the letter H.
We had out puzzles, shadow matching pictures, bead sequencing.
We have rice in our sensory table.
We sang "The little fish" song, we sang song kids choice songs from our song bank and we did a opossum rhyme.
We made a graph of the children's favorite nocturnal animal. BATS WON!
