Willow Room- Terrific 2's and 3's
We read "Otto and Bob" today.
We painted on wax paper, using aluminum foil that is scrunched up into a ball and dipped into colorful paint.
We used oil pastels on butterfly shapes or ant shapes.
We did some action songs for our gym time today.
We did stringing beads today.
We did some butterfly rhymes, each child had a butterfly ring to wear for the rhymes.
Our butterflies are opened up.
Oak Room: Pre-k class
We read "The crunching munching caterpillar" by Sheridan Cain and "Where does the butterfly go when it rains?" by May Garelick
We worked on a special project for Mother's Day. We also played with shaving cream at the art table.
We practiced our songs for our Mother's Day tea.
We did a graph of how many letters are in our last name.

Trinity Preschool Activities for Friday, May 2, 2014
Oak Room: Pre- K class
We read "A fly went by" by Mike McClintock
The children drew a picture to go along with the sentence " "If I had a million dollars, I would get my mom .......". The answers and pictures are adorable.
We did butterfly rhymes wearing special fabric butterfly rings.
We also practiced our songs for Mother's Day.
We did some rhyming word families
We made a graph of our favorite colors.
Willow Room: MWF class
We read "The big red kite" by Stan and Jan Berenstain
We made kites using tissue paper we glued onto a paper shaped like a kite.
At the easel, we used 3 colors of paint, a really long piece of paper and long brushes.
We did a 5 kites rhyme, we explored a new toy in the room, It is a teddy bear- button, zipper, snap, buckle and tie activity board
We looked at objects that start with the letter V and talked about the sounds it makes.
We practiced our Mother's Day songs.
Maple Room- MWF class
We did the story of the carrot- an old folk tale and we used props for the story. Then the children took turns acting it out.
We did some planting in our room today.
We had tulip shape paper and dab a dot painters at the easel.
We did the May song, Months song, and practiced our songs for Mother's Day.
We also read "From seed to plant" by Gail Gibbons and and we talked about the parts of a flower.

We read "Elmer and Rose" by David McKee
We dipped cotton in vegetable oil and spread it on wax paper. Then we added colored tissue paper pieces and it looks like stained glass.
We did the rock and roll freeze dance, and Your face will surely show it" for music today.

Trinity Preschool Activities for Thursday, April 1, 2014
Oak Room; Pre- k class
We read "The butterfly house" by Eve Bunting
We cut paper to make it look like grass. This was a good fine motor and following directions project as the children needed to make small snips in the green construction paper without cutting all the way through the paper to the other end. It will become the grass on our "house".
We planted grass seed to make a front lawn for our houses and the children also cut out a triangle shape to be the house and decorated it.
We did Moving every day, an action song for music time/gym time today as it was another rainy day.
We turned our dramatic play area into a pizza parlor. Was it ever busy!
Willow Room- T/TH class
"Whoosh went the wind" is the story we read today. The author is Sally Derby
We glued fun foam stickers onto a special Mother's Day project.
We painted with long rollers with patterns on them on turtle shapes at the easel.
We played with balloons and paddles in the hall for gym time today.
We did a science experiment with cotton balls and water. The cotton balls are like clouds, they soaked up the water in the cup and then when they could not hold any more water, it dripped out, like rain.
We also read "Who likes rain?" by Wong Herbert Yee

We read two Franklin books, "Franklin is messy" and "Franklin finders keepers"
We did a writing activity with special "May words"
We did a math activity with adding and subtracting. The children were the number line, we took some and added some and added or subtracted the numbers.
